Welcome to DDAC Juniors

Denby Dale AC launched its new junior section on 29th April 2015. With financial assistance from West Yorkshire Sports and Kirklees Council (West Yorkshire), this exciting new venture aims to provide athletics coaching to young people living in Denby Dale and the surrounding villages.

Our team of qualified England Athletics coaches and coaching assistants will be delivering the Athletics 365 development programme. Based on the key skills of running, jumping and throwing, this multi-event approach is designed to develop the all-round athlete and is suitable for novices as well as more experienced junior athletes. Coaches tailor the weekly training sessions according to the ages, ability and experience of those attending, combining varied work stations with competitive team games.

For those who wish, there is the opportunity to train and compete in a wide range of local events, including track and field, cross country and fell running.

Who can attend training sessions?

The junior section is aimed at young people aged 8 to 18 years. Due to success in attracting young athletes, there is now a waiting list. Please contact Anne Middleton, Junior- section Membership Secretary, if you would like your child to be added to the waiting list.

Parents/guardians will be asked to complete a short registration form on the first evening.  Parents are very welcome to stay and watch.
