Welcome to Denby Dale Athletics Club

The club is based at The George Inn in the West Yorkshire village of Upper Denby with training nights for adults aged 16 and upwards on Tuesdays at 7pm. There are groups for all abilities, so if you are interested in running, either competitively or just to keep fit, why not pop down one evening. We would be very pleased to see you!

Launched in April 2015, the club also has a Junior Section based at Shelley College for children aged 8 to 16. Currently around 40 juniors attend training sessions on Wednesday evenings based around the key skills of running, jumping and throwing. Sessions are suitable for novices as well as more experienced junior athletes. Further details are available on the Junior pages of the website here.

Club members of all ages also participate in a wide range of events throughout the course of the year, details of which can be found on the relevant website pages.

Tuesday night runs

Tuesday club runs start from behind The George Inn in Upper Denby HD8 8UE. Please arrive at 6.45pm so groups can set off sharply at 7pm. There are usually options for both road and off-road runs. On darker nights, please bring your head torch / running lights and hi viz to ensure you are visible to other road / footpath users. Do stay for a post-run drink - the landlord, Dean Wyatt, and his team always do there best to make us feel welcome.

New club vests & clothing range (Mar'25)

After months of research and deliberations the new design of club vest and range of training clothing can now be ordered. See the Club Kit page for further details.
